I have got news from Charles Knight, founder and editor of AltSearchEngines, the leading online destination about new search engines around the world, that AltSearchEngines.com has become independent.
From June 2007 till now, the site was part of the ReadWriteWeb network of sites. According to Compete, AltSearchEngines.com had 40 thousand unique visitors from the U.S. in September 2008, up 92% from September 2007. When mainstream media such as Newsweek, Les Echos and Wired were looking for information about Google’s alternatives, the media turned to AltSearchEngines.
We are at Quintura have been a strong supporter of AltSearchEngines.com as one of the site sponsors since its launch in June 2007. In addition, Quintura Site Search powers site search on AltSearchEngines.com.
We should also thank Richard MacManus, founder and editor of ReadWriteWeb (RRW), for supporting Charles Knight from January 2007 when the first list of top 100 alternative search engines was published.
I expect Charles Knight of AltSearchEngines to keep publishing online content that will be of strong interest to its site users. I wish Charles and AltSearchEngines every success in their business.
