1) Less talk. I am now under a Non Disclosure Agreement (NDA) with “Company X,” the company that will be building one of the “Google killers” you keep hearing about. So, I can’t come right out and tell you Who, What, and Where (the Why is obvious, the When is on Read/WriteWeb, basically 2008). At least not yet.
2) A lot more action. If you are reading this post, you’ve probably read some of my many posts calling on the Alternative Search Engines to stop acting individually and to (please!) band together to challenge Google. Well, here’s the key that unlocks the treasure chest, we realized that we don’t have to wait for them to get together, we can do it for them. That will involve a lot more action next year.
3) Naysayers. What about the bloggers who take pot shots at our predictions? Well friends, I have spent a year doing essentially nothing but study the alternative search engines. And not just the “Top 100,” (actually 227 have been on The List at one time or another) but the 1,000 we started this blog with, and then all of the ones since then, including all of the international ones, bringing us close to the estimated 1,700 worth watching.
And don’t forget the NDA. So, if you hear some doubters, make sure that he or she has spent at least a year reviewing at least 1,500 search engines. Oh, and be sure they know the details of the new search platform that we can’t divulge, have them spell it out for you.
4) The next Google. Yakov of Quintura says that the next Google will come out of Eastern Europe, and he may very well be right. Others would say it will come from NYC or Silicon Valley or Europe. Just as the babe had to be born in Bethlehem, I say the next Google will come out of Minnesota. Imagine that.
5) More features. We will be augmenting our posts or “talk,” with a lot more action here. Several new features are in the works for AltSearchEngines which will add dramatically to our functionality.
So, please stay tuned, and please be patient. Remember, I can only be but so specific about our next-gen search platform, and most of the action will be in Stealth or private Alpha and Beta status until the 4th Quarter – and that’s a long time away.
But we will continue to show you “the most wonderful search engines you’ve never seen” (did you recognize any of the 3 posted just prior to this post?), and you’re going to love our new features. Not to mention more Debates, CEO profiles, Guest Authors, etc.
A little less talk, a lot more posting
Let’s get on down to the main attraction
With a little less talk and a lot more action

Thanks for the notice Charles. Per your comment on my site, I’ve begun reading AltSE and have subscribed to your feed. While I’m a naysayer i that I don’t think Google is in much trouble due to being a financial behemoth, I can say that there are great opportunities out there. It sounds like you’re up to something completely new, different and genius. So best of luck!
