Today Kosmix announced the launch of a new health consumer site, www.righthealth.com, giving users broad and deep content results for any health topic. At the same time, Kosmix also unveiled beta versions of its autos, www.rightautos.com, and travel, www.righttrips.com, consumer sites.
RightHealth Every health search produces a user-friendly home page that is more organized than traditional search results. These superior results pages are why I have consistently placed Kosmix on the Top 100 Alternative Search Engines list. Regardless of the health topic that you search, RightHealth returns a crisp template featuring videos, images, medical news and patient forums, providing consumers with a comprehensive view of any topic. Unlike search results on current sites, the new Kosmix products allow users to quicky explore topics and discover content by giving them a Topic Overview page for any topic.
To bring it home, I did a search for “CRVO” on RightHealth. CRVO stands for Central Retinal Vein Occlusion, a condition that I just recently developed. Basically, a blood clot burst behind the retina in my right eye, permanently damaging the “retinal map” cells. This is the page it returned:

You can see how well organized the results are – an instant CRVO page for me.
Today’s announcement is a precursor to realizing the Kosmix vision of creating a home page for any topic on the Web, from Angelina Jolie to presidential candidates, from college rankings to mysterious bee harvests. The Kosmix technology will cull all of the content on the Web to generate pages algorithmically without any human intervention, giving users an encyclopedia of knowledge that is dynamic, limitless in scale, and constantly changing based on their precise needs.
The core of Kosmix’s technology is a sophisticated algorithm-based categorization engine that has been in development for three years. The technology combs through billions of Web pages and structured data points to aggregate, categorize, and return the most targeted content to users. By generating every page algorithmically, Kosmix creates rich and relevant home pages automatically for any topic and scales seamlessly as the Web grows. Kosmix’s mission is to create the unofficial home page for every topic on the Web.
This is the type of search engine that I believe Nitin, Kaila, and I can agree on. It has a special algorithm under the hood for Nitin, a clean User Interface that I like, and a balance between the two that I think Kaila would appreciate.
But what do you think? Please go to the Health, Auto, or Travel site and type in a more specific query. Then review the automatically generated Topic Overview page.
Please come back and share your thoughts!
