With so many video search engines out there, I just had one question for Dabble:

Q: What’s the advantage of searching with Dabble?

A: The advantage of using Dabble is the fact that we have access to a wide variety of video and podcast sources. We have links to over 13 million online videos and podcasts. You need only visit a single source, Dabble, to search video and podcats scattered across 300 hosts and independent video sources.

You can search for the latest video on the Internet from places like Blip.tv, Clipshack, YouTube and FrozenHippo, as well as some really cool archival video from places like the Internet Archive’s Moving Images website.

We search across these hosting sites, utilizing the metadata, tagging, etc. from those sites. Plus, we have content from users entering individual records of stuff they like using the bookmarklet, editing and improving video listings already on the site, or by working with us to simplify doing a larger import of all their video records.

How about the name “Dabble?” Is it:

1. To splash liquid gently and playfully?

2. To undertake something superficially or without serious intent?

3. To bob forward and under in shallow water so as to feed off the bottom?

4. A web application written using the Seaside web framework which allows users to create database applications using a web browser?
