     International Search Engine of the Day Yandex:

I needed Wikipedia’s help with this one! Its name can be explained as “Yet Another iNDEXer” (yandex) or “Языково́й (language) Index”. Besides the Russian word “Я” corresponds to the English pronoun “I“, “Яndex” looks a little bit like a translation. Sorry, it’s all Slavic to me!

Yandex
Yandex is the largest portal in Russian Internet today. According to studies conducted by Gallup Media, FOM and Comcon, Yandex is the largest resource in the Russian Internet, based on the audience size and Internet penetration. Among the services offered by Yandex are its search engine, free e-mail, latest news, Spam protection (Spamooborona), web hosting (Narod), encyclopedia, dictionaries, comparison shopping system (Market) and WiFi.

Gogo
Recently launched GoGo allows you to search for web pages, pictures, photo and video files, in Russian, of course. The search engine is said to index 1 billion Web pages, 100 million photographs and 500 thousand video files.

Russia-based Quintura offers a visual context-based search vs. the standard keyword-based searching.
