A new, free, job-search engine was launched Wednesday that will advertise only jobs in Kalamazoo.
The site, which was unveiled at the Kalamazoo Regional Chamber of Commerce’s quarterly meeting in downtown Kalamazoo, features jobs of “every level from the district manager of Wal-Mart to the greeter at Wal-Mart … from the brain surgeon to the staff member who delivers the meds on a part-time basis,” said chamber President and CEO Steward Sandstrom.
The site is intended to help people such as local college students searching for internships and the unemployed spouses of professionals being transferred to Kalamazoo.
“Every single day there are hundreds of jobs available in this region,” Sandstrom said. “It’s important to know there are jobs in the larger region to show the opportunity here.”
The search engine, found at http://jobs.kazoochamber.com, is a collaboration between the chamber, the Kalamazoo Gazette and the Gazette’s online affiliate MLive.com.
The site also includes information about Kalamazoo’s quality of life, The Kalamazoo Promise scholarship program for Kalamazoo Public Schools students and a relocation guide for people interested in moving here.
