Regular MSG buddy and supporter Nadir Garouche from Gameloft has come through with another scoop http://www.seoprinciple.com/yahoo-to-become-t-mobile-usas-default-mobile-search-engine/08/ and given his excellent track record it certainly looks credible. According to Nadir, T-Mobile U.S.A. will team up with Yahoo! to make OneSearch the default search engine on all T-Mobile handsets shipped from November 8th (except the G1 and Sidekick of course!). This is another coup for Yahoo! who are beginning to get some serious traction in the mobile search space, but presumably – as Nadir points out – this will mean the end of T-Mobile’s association with Medio, who are their current search provider.Peggy has lined up a conversation with Nadir to get the inside track on this scoop and will report back with a post by the end of the week.
Incidentally, Peggy is still in London following the successful ChinWag event where MSG was described as the leading knowledge portal for mobile search by Ayse Göker, Lecturer and CEO of Ambiesense Ltd. – look out for Ayse’s book on mobile search and in particular the chapter focussing on MSG!
