The Newest Fad, T-Shirt Search Engines

The internet has a ton, and I mean a ton of t-shirt companies, but it has always lacked a quality way to search for all these t-shirts.

Fortunately, PleaseDressMe, one of the first high profile t-shirt search engines, could hopefully patch this hole in the t-shirt search industry. Started by Digg’s chief architect Joe Stump and Gary Vaynerchuk, this website has a good shot at becoming the best one-stop spot for t-shirt search. Their goal is simple, to allow users to search through all the major t-shirt stores through one outlet. However, PleaseDressMe has a long, long way to go, for it returns very few results and cannot find more than several t-shirts for even the simplest of words. (Two results were found for the word “Turtle.”) But if the guys in charge ever decide to make this something more than a side project, then there is definitely potential for them to make this the number one t-shirt search engine. As for now however, there are several search engines which already work fairly well and seem to have the edge.

Teenormous.com, which recently launched, is probably the best of the bunch. It has a vast database and returns dozens of results. It isn’t perfect, but it definitely beats everything else, especially T-shirtsearchengine which is a complete mess.

Shirtseek is another one, but it is similar to PleaseDressMe in that they both carry the same brand, limited search results.

Thanks so much for the compliments! What you see currently is only the tip of the iceberg for Teenormous. We have big plans and many features to add. It is no side project for us. :) Mind if we quote you on Teenormous (and credit you properly)?

Hi, keep up the good work at Teenormous. And yes you can definitely quote me if you wish.

Hey, thanks for featuring me. Now that the “BIG” news of pleasedress.me has spread, sites like little ol’ shirtseek don’t stand a chance – that is unless there are blogs out there that actually take the time to weight the options. So thank you.

    Nice write up :)

I agree that our database of tshirts is on the thin side but that is because we are manually adding tees to our search. We are doing that to ensure quality and accuracy. We are adding 750 more shirts tonight and more and more each day.

We’re growing slowly every day, we like to think that business isn’t a sprint its a marathon :)

PS – Teenormous and Shirt Seek are both wonderful services. As is Rumplo, one that has been around for a bit now.

These are helpful. Results were mixed but pretty good. I also found this one, Search4tshirts.com which has its positives and negatives also. Tons of t-shirts but not sure the search function is perfect. All of these t-shirt search engine sites are fun to use
