The Latest View from Viewzi - The Timeline View
A couple of notes on the new Viewzi Timeline View:
1) Pages are displayed from top to bottom in order of relevance
2) Search Engine Results are colored from light blue to dark blue to
also indicate relevance (the more relevant links are lighter in color)
3) Pages are displayed on the timeline from right to left according to
the last updated timestamp (source: Google)
4) The timeline is expandable
5) Each listing has a mini view which is activated upon a mouse-click
that includes descriptive text and a mini screenshot
6) User can leave viewzi and go to the site that appears most relevant
by clicking on the result’s green arrow button

Pretty slick. I wish it were more substantive in terms of results on serious subjects–it is quite geared towards consumer products and pop culture–and there is a market for those of us who want to see what is out there in terms of books, podcasts and video clips on serious matters such as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. I think some of the new search engines are missing a bet by not trying to appeal to the dour librarian crowd with meaty subject matter. After all, librarians are often the first people to adopt search tools and suggest them to library patrons.
The various views displayed were handsome and easy to navigate. It is just that I got often no results on my search or surprisingly little (e.g., the Amazon one), so the elegant views were not very helpful. But I can see that someone looking for recipes or something fluffy would like it very much. Nice work on the interface and engineering. Very promising.
