Boozle searches 1000’s of liquor stores in Australia to find you your favourite booze at the cheapest price, and at your closest outlets. Boozle.com.au searches Beer, Spirits and Pre-mixed, but as yet does not include wine.

Users can search for drinks by type, brand and size, then simply select a suburb and Boozle will produce a list of prices from least expensive to most expensive. Boozle.com.au is a free service for both the consumer and the retailer.  Their goals are simple, to ensure that alcohol consumers always get the best price available, and to ensure that retailers are rewarded for providing the lowest prices.  Now, let’s see if they sell Absinthe in Australia…

AnswerMe, a question and answer application developed by search engine Sproose launched today on Facebook and Twittter.

AnswerMe is a search application “widget” for direct communication via a users address book or email contact list. Users may search on Sproose and then automatically send the search question out through their address book of friends.

For example, “best Italian restaurant in San Francisco”? Now you can search the Sproose web results and ask your friends at the same time.

“The AnswerMe app is an easy and direct way to send a search question out to your contacts all at once and get real answers. This application brings together an element of both search and social networking”, says Bob Pack CEO.

AnswerMe can be found in the application directories on Facebook and Twitter or on Sproose.

Sproose is a “voting” search engine, where users may influence the ranking order of the results.

Coming Soon: New Job Search Engine InovaHire

Please note: Although their final site won’t be launched until the fall, AltSearchEngines readers can join their update list and take advantage of their free job search, interview and career articles now!

InovaHire’s new Patent-Pending Real-Time Interview and Social Network Technology promises to deliver a cutting-edge hiring solution to both candidates and employers. Expected to launch in November of 2008, InovaHire will allow candidates and employers to receive the highest level of personal online interaction necessary for a successful hiring experience.  Candidates and employers will benefit from multiple features including: a database search engine which promises both ease and accuracy; convenient and private communication tools; the ability to interview live in the privacy of a home or office; and a true representation of preference and ability through the creation of a professional profile.

InovaHire lists 14 features that they are planning to launch:

1st: Patent-Pending. Our patent will enable us, and only us, to offer an employment database coupled with live, real-time video conferencing capabilities.

2nd Price: You can’t beat our pricing. It is free for candidates to upload their resume and search for jobs and free for employers to post unlimited jobs and contact candidates. The only thing that will cost anything is the live interviewing and even that will have an unbeatable price!

3rd Database: We believe in quality, not quantity which is why we want candidates to find the perfect job and employers to find the perfect candidate on their first try. We have two features that will help ensure this: a) auto-private: if a candidate, or an employer, has not logged into their account for 30 consecutive days, their account will go into “private” mode and they will not come up in searches b) block feature: if a candidate does not want their employer to know they are searching, or they are tired of being hassled by a recruiter, they can choose to block them. Same goes for an employer, if they have an unqualified candidate constantly submitting their resume, they may block the candidate.

4th Convenience: Candidates and employers may communicate online via internal mail. Nothing will be linked back to their personal e-mails so they don’t have to worry about receiving spam. Further, employers must be the first to start the conversation. Candidates can not simply contact employers unless they were contacted by the employer first!

5th Ease: We have dedicated a lot of time to the set-up, layout and functionality of our website. Before the site started being build, we had over 72 pages already laid out of how everything was going to look and work. For a candidate to apply for a job, they simply hit the apply button next to that job. Once they hit apply, an employer will receive a notification and that candidate’s information will be stored under the employer’s profile under that particular job. Same thing goes for scheduling an interview, starting an interview, saving a candidate to a job, etc. If interested, I would be more than happy to go over each picture and page with you! It is a lot of information though so don’t say I didn’t warn you!

6th Alternatives: That’s right, we give both candidates and employers alternatives. For example: If an employer chooses a particular candidate’s profile, at the bottom of that candidate’s profile will be a “Employers that viewed this candidate’s profile also viewed: (a list of other candidates).” The same will go for candidates looking into employer pages. This will give exposure to other companies and candidates that normally would not have been viewed otherwise. Remember, quality not quantity.

7th Live Interview: We will offer through our site the ability for candidates and employers to receive the highest level of interaction necessary for a successful hiring experience. This means, no in-office interviews, no more plane rides, no more two-hour drive. Now, employers can interview candidates online, live via webcam. Just click start and you are on your way. There are no membership costs, no long-term agreements, no special webcams. You just sign in and start. The employer will be charged a very small fee (unbeatable pricing), and the candidates will not incur any charges. If longer than an hour, a second interview credit will be used. So now, you can reach qualified candidates living across the country. This is a great feature for pre-qualifying candidates.

8th Resources: We want to make sure that candidates and employers are given the resources they need. Everything from clothing to office supplies, background checks to moving services. We will be working with industry leaders to provide anything and everything to candidates and employers! We don’t want to be the best at everything, we just want to be the best at what we do!

9th Accuracy: There are many companies out there that have either a) multiple locations or b) multiple recruiters. We allow the individual to have an account, but they must be representing a company. So now, when you type in you want a job in New Mexico, only New Mexico jobs will show up for that company, not every job including that location. This gives companies the freedom to divvy up the responsibilities and let each location, or person, do their own thing.

10th Personalization: If you are an artist for example, you want to display your work. Our site will let you upload multiple pictures so that you may show off your profile. Seeing is believing, and it helps to take a resume to life.

11th Self-Promotion: All of our pages will be SEO. So, employer’s pages will come up on Google searches. Because of this, we will give employers the opportunity to turn their page into their own personal ad space. You never know when a customer will stumble upon your page! So, there will be special area where employers can upload an advertisement or coupon.

12th Advertising: We will be using a new advertising technology that will allow companies to design their advertisements online, choose the size, the placements, who they would like their ad to reach (demographic information), and for the term. Our prices are beyond affordable, for everyone! We will also have a limited number of ad spaces, I don’t want the site to loose its “look and feel.”

13th Functionality: Our website will be very Web 3.0. The design I can’t give secrets on but we are working with Webby Award-Winning Design Firm, MegaStar Media and I promise, users will be impressed!

14th Articles: We will always have and continue to add to our collection of Free Job Search, Interview and Career article.

Remember:  Although their final site won’t be launched until the fall, AltSearchEngines readers can join their update list and take advantage of their free job search, interview and career articles now!

Oriango is the Dictionary of Contents on the Web.

With Oriango you can perform searches, add and share web links, news, videos, sites, profiles, music, blogs, anything you need. Oriango is easy to use. It does not require registration, so you can advertise, search and share your contents freely.

A regular dictionary is used to look for words that they don’t know or to learn new ones.  Oriango has the same concept, but instead of words, Oriango looks for web contents.  The website is fed by the users, helping to make it updated and informative.

Why should I use Oriango?
Oriango was created to present a new search tool, making the users its only concern.  The user chooses the content, and the editor makes it relevant throughout the quality of its content description. With Oriango you can also find and share new contents.

But why the name dictionary approach?
All the information added to Oriango is arranged alphabetically, as in a dictionary, this way is certain that only the name or the title will matter, allowing independence on their choices.  Therefore it’s the user that chooses what is relevant, important or cool, not a group selection, votes or page rank.

Why should I register content on Oriango?
Because this content will be seen by millions of web users, rising instantly the accesses to these links.
Oriango is easy to use and you’ll be handling information in a whole different way.
Signing up your content in Oriango, your information will not be lost, and will be frequently visited. Your information might be what other users are looking for.

Why should I add a profile?
You add your name, description And profile’s link or url of the social web you belong, To add your content. At the profile you can also add the link of groups and communities To which you belong.

Why should I join Oriango?
When you add your profile at Oriango, your friends of other social webs which you do not belong can find you through Oriango.

Why is Oriango’s search system different?
Oriango looks for the terms of research through the “Add Content” like an URL, keywords and descriptions. After this search, the contents will be presented alphabetically by title.

Why doesn’t Oriango organize the results so that I can be found?
That depends on how you add your contents, including important and true information. A good description will get other user’s attention, and that increase the chances of your link being found. Also, if you include any information that do not relate to the subject, the user can report you. In this case, the content will be deleted and blocked.

Why should I do research with Oriango?
By the way we organize information, Oriango introduces a result for your search that is more efficient and direct, since it is the user who chooses the keywords, description and title that best represents the content.
The search is performed only on the information added by the users, not showing irrelevant or external content.

Why doesn’t Oriango’s logo have colors?
Because only the information that you’re looking for should matter, Oriango’s layout was projected so that only the links you need stand out.

Thanks, Katrina!
