Here is a short translation:

General search engines for single countries and regions

If you are about planning your vacancies and you decided to go to the Easter Island?

Or your professor talked you into writing your final paper / thesis about the independent Kosovo?

Then of course you can do your internet research with a general/all purpose search engine, and unfortunately for most people this is still only Google. But as the much valued author and expert for internet research Phil Bradley points out in a post for AltSearchEngines you will very quickly hit the limits (of this approach).

He argues/advises to search with a search engine, which is specialized for those countries and regions – and he is right. And in anticipation to your question “How and where do I find those (search engines)?” Bradly collected in an tremendously diligent work a list of more than 400 search engines, classified by countries, which you find here. If you don’t grub/rummage here, it will be your fault if you miss the chance to save not only hours, but day of research work. A must for all vacationers, region or country specialists and many more.

Today, online users around the world will begin testing the alpha version of (!)Yureekah, the search engine for individuals seeking online advertising information.

Now, finding where competitors are advertising and determining the best options for future brand advertising is as easy as clicking a mouse button. More information about (!)Yureekah and its capabilities can be found at www.yureekah.com.

“We set out with a singular mission; to organize the world’s online advertising information and make it universally accessible and useful through a single, automated portal — and in the process eliminate the enormous inefficiencies that currently exist,” said (!)Yureekah Co-Founder Devaraj Southworth.

“(!)Yureekah is free to all users, enabling agencies and advertisers to reduce costs, but also levels the playing field for small business owners and individual advertisers by offering the same access and ability. We believe that our suite of products will change the way in which traditional online advertising operates.

Our objective is to develop a collaborative online platform for all online advertising needs and intend to replicate the success of Google’s AdWord in the Display space.”

(!)Yureekah is an excellent resource for various categories of professionals, including:

AGENCIES – With (!)Yureekah, conducting a real-time competitive analysis of similar businesses takes minutes versus weeks. Not only does (!)Yureekah search competitor ads internationally, but it also archives them for future use. (!)Yureekah also enables live, automated searching for global campaigns, making the task painless.

ADVERTISERS – Launching a product worldwide in less than 24 hours used to be impossible – but not anymore. (!)Yureekah enables competitive research and understanding of competitors’ brands online advertising capabilities in no time.

SMALL BUSINESS OWNERS
– Finding out where the top brands in a field are advertising online is a daunting task, especially for small business owners short on time and money. With (!)Yureekah, small business owners have access to the same easy-to-use competitive search tool as the large advertisers, all for free.

“The technology solution (!)Yureekah has developed is one of a kind, and is poised to become a major force in the online media industry,” said Larry Bouts, (!)Yureekah advisor and former PepsiCo operating division CFO.

“As even more advertising dollars move online, (!)Yureekah is ideally positioned to cater to the needs of its various customers and capture up to 50 percent of this market within five years,” said Randy Jones, (!)Yureekah advisor and former owner of Worth and Esquire magazines.

The inspiration for (!)Yureekah came from serial entrepreneurs, Devaraj Southworth and Vishal Sharma. “As an agency ourselves, we realized the inefficiencies and the manual processes involved with online competitive research,” said (!)Yureekah Co-Founder Vishal Sharma. “In several situations we had to turn away business because timelines were unrealistic for us, let alone larger agencies. We realized that if we, as a boutique agency, were facing these issues, then certainly other professionals were feeling the same pains.”

Travelgrove launches Hotel Search Engine

Travelgrove’s hotel search now allows users to see results from major travel sites as well as hotel chains. The idea behind travel search engines is that they can search other sites simultaneously in order to find out which site offers the cheapest rates for a particular hotel.

Besides the ability to compare the prices for one hotel from several merchants, the company is betting on powerful sorting features. A new web technology called AJAX, which is often used in context with the new Web or Web 2.0, allows the user to quickly filter and sort results without ever refreshing the page or waiting for results to reload. An oversized map furthermore enables users to get even more precise with their hotel searches. If you want to find out about whether specific hotels have an Internet connection, a restaurant, or include a free breakfast, all you need to do is filter on the result page and you will see everything update lightning fast.

According to Mr. Serduelt, CTO and co-Founder of the company, “Finding proper algorithms that would ultimately match the same hotels from different websites, was a widely underestimated task.” It’s extremely challenging to find ways that can match names and locations which may have different names or spellings in different languages. At the beginning, Travelgrove’s hotel search will be available in English only, but other languages like German, Italian, and French will follow soon in order to make it a truly global application.
