I kind of see this as a loosing proposition and I can’t figure out why Quintura would voluntarily enter this segment.

It will be a herculean effort to keep any — and I mean any — questionable content out of the results — while not severely reducing the quality of the search experience.

Even then, all it takes is one incident where a teacher is using this in front of a classrom and something pornographic surfaces…bam… that was the sound of “Quintura Kids” loosing credibility it had… as the news spreads amongst teachers…parents…etc

I just don’t see that much upside, and a huge downside.

Quintura’s visual-based search is very appealing to children’s audience. It’s proved by the fact that the site is regularly being used in schools as well as by highly-rated the industry experts. As far as the search results are concerned, they were manually checked for safety. No worry :)

I have to agree a Kids friendly search engine would be great!

I think it would be really difficult to keep all the “crap” and “filth” out of it though…

On the other hand…if they find a way to do this…then maybe they can relay this too Yahoo, Google and all the other SE’s..

    LOL
