The kid-friendly search engine Quintura Kids just got a new design! Go check it out on www.kids.quintura.com Quintura Kids is mostly used in the elementary schools and public libraries in the U.S. Several hundred school and teacher websites have linked to the site since its launch in March 2007.
The search engine can be easily embedded onto any web or blog page by clicking the Embed it! link in the top-right corner of the screen and copying & pasting an embed code onto the page.
In June 2007, Quintura Kids was ranked the highest among the kid-friendly search engines by Search Engine Watch. The search engines for kids were ranked in five categories including a visual appeal to a child; relevance to a child, based on chosen searches; commercial vs. educational, with the educational slant creating a higher score; and ease of navigation for 7-10 year olds.

In Beta A “How to…” search engine HowDoYa

How Do Ya find out how to do…..? It ain’t easy. Too much information to wade through, and the worst thing is, there’s almost never a single best answer.
HowDoYa was created to help people who want to learn how-to do something — anything. They do it by helping you search the Internet in a smarter, task-centric way. And unlike other websites that profess to have the single right answer, they give you many (but not too many) answers, so you can find the one that is right for you.
In addition to search results, HowDoYa offers up many precisely relevant concepts and notions organized in a simple, easy-to-understand way. These concepts can be used to refine your search, building out a more and more precise query, or they can be used to quickly purchase the things you will need to do your “how-to.”

The HowDoYa Beta was launched in February, and is scheduled for full release in April. Stay tuned!
