PogoFrog, a Medical Search Engine for Physicians, was launched after extensive observation of
physician web searching practices. Physicians use the Internet regularly to research varied healthcare subjects.

Studies have shown that physicians rarely find links to credible medical information on the first few pages of a
keyword search when using the popular consumer search engines. In fact, they often must search through dozens
of results pages before finding the credible medical information they need.

The first several pages of results returned by consumer search engines often include links to attorneys, personal blogs or alternative medicine sites. Physicians must evaluate the credibility of these sites by a quick glance of the headings.  This is my newest malady, caused by the virus that I got in Chicago, Peripheral Neuropathy (my feet and hands are ‘asleep’ 24 hours a day.)

PogoFrog is a custom search engine that jumps over these layman-focused sites and returns only credible medical site links on the first results page and on every results page. This is done by specifically excluding consumer sites and specifically including only credible healthcare sites such as FDA.gov, peer-review journal sites, association sites and others.
