This is the story of little lyGO, the visual search engine.  lyGO loved to make pictures of everything.


This is lyGO’s home page.  See the nice pictures?  Now, move your mouse over the pretty lady.



Wow!  She is pretty!  But not as pretty as Rihanna.  Can you say “Rihanna?”  Now the picture is Big, with a helpful snippet at the bottom.  “Snippet” is a funny word, isn’t it?

Now we will search for Absinthe.  “Absinthe” is a funny word, too, isn’t it?  The thujone in it will let you see pretty pictures that other people can’t see!  Can you say “thujone?”  You should never drink Absinthe!  It tastes yucky, and you might cut your ear off. {Van Gough}

See how all of the search results are thumbnails under categories such as ” Absinthe for Sale,” “Absinthe History,” Recipe Absinthe,” and others.  Each says More | Related.



If you click on “More,” all of the images on the page will be in that category.



But if you click on “Related,” you will get sub-categories that are all related to the column that you clicked: “Absinthe for Sale,” “Absinthe Purchase,” “Is Absinthe Illegal?” and others.  Awesome!

lyGo has a big brother.  His name is “Lycos.”  He has a dog.  It’s a retriever.  Can you link to Retriever?
