Clever Hippo is a search engine for applications and widgets. Their mission is to make it easier to find apps and widgets for whatever you’re into. With the Clever Hippo application search you can search the thousands of applications that are available for your social network, mobile device, blog, home page, and desktop.
Here are some highlights of the new platform:
* A simple voting mechanism that allows users to rate applications.
* A platform for developers to get their apps/widgets noticed.
* Developers can now add their widgets directly to the search engine.
* The ability to filter search results by platform: Facebook, OpenSocial, etc.
* Any Clever Hippo query can now be turned into a custom RSS feed.
* An iphone friendly version of the site is available at http://i.cleverhippo.org
And of course, the best features of the Facebook app have also been carried over…

Clever Hippo FAQ
How does the application rating system work?
It’s easy to find the most popular applications on Clever Hippo. Sort your search results by popularity to find the most popular apps. It’s also easy to voice your opinion. Click the Clever link (below the orange rating box) to vote-up your favorite apps.
I can’t find my application or widget. How do I get it included in search?
Click the Add your App or Widget at the top of the page and follow the instructions. To add your app you will need to provide a URL where our users can find and download your widget or app. That location can be a widget directory, your blog, or your website.
I own a widget directory and I want to include all my widgets in the Clever Hippo search.
Is there an API to do this? This feature is currently in development.
