Mahalo -in German- is Yaggs

Today, Thomas Frütel announced the launch of Yaggs, a German, human powered search engine (or more precisely: a human powered directory of search results) based on the model of Mahalo. You enter a search term and Yaggs either displays its own results or fetches the results from Google if no Yaggs page has been created yet. Yaggs results are created by its editors and they claim them to be superior to what other search engines will find since the noise has been filtered out.

And what are the top searches with Yaggs in Germany? Fubball, Britney Spears, and the iPhone! (I have no idea what the other two are – do you?) It’s a small world!
