The Town Crier

The week before:

Today we congratulated Collarity and pluggd on their AO Top 100 awards, we looked at some search engines from the Czech Republic as part of our “Around the World in 80 weeks,” and our feature story was an interesting new feature of ASE Exalead.  And we introduced DevilFinder; do you dare to try it?

Friday’s FabFour were Advertising related search engines Rollyo; adverlicio.us; OnlineMarketing.info; and ollo.

Thursday there was a rash of news and updates from ClipBlast!; indeed; Sproose; Snooth; and Searchles.

Wednesday’s Search Engine of the Day was”one of those,” KitchenandBathSearch. Whatever did we do before? We visit a different CEO every Wednesday, and this week we dropped in on Ran Geva, founder of Omgili.

On Tuesday we celebrated Healthline’s good news, and the Search Engines of the Day were Pagebull and viewfour.

Monday we followed Search Engine Land’s lead and switched to Ask.com for their, “Monday without Google.” Zuula was the Search Engine of the Day. On Mondays we examine a different Vertical, and this time it was Charity Search Engines: Jikolp; everyclick; GoodSearch; Clicks4Cancer; magic taxi; ripple; charitycafe; GoodTree; Searchgive; and SearchKindly.

The week began on Sunday with my first Op-ed piece entitled, “The 1% Solution (or “Who wants to be a Billionaire?”) about the competition amongst the Alts for that minuscule 2% slice of the search market pie.
